Bedlam: Who Will Win Final Installment of OU-Oklahoma State Rivalry In 2023?

The final installment of the annual Bedlam rivalry game between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State kicks off from Stillwater’s Boone Pickens Stadium on Saturday afternoon, presenting a tantalizing matchup across Oklahoma sports betting between two of the Big 12’s best teams at the moment.

Between the Sooners — who enter Saturday’s showdown with a 7-1 record after falling in Lawrence to Kansas a week ago, and the 6-2 Cowboys who have won four straight — there’s no shortage of storylines to keep an eye on this weekend. The in-state rivalry continues Saturday when No. 9 Oklahoma meets No. 22 Oklahoma State. A leg up in a shot to play in the Big 12 title game is at stake. The Sooners are currently 6 point favorites at ESPNBet. These are two very strong college football programs, but Oklahoma holds an overwhelming lead in the overall series, 91-19-7.

Here’s what you need to know ahead of Saturday’s OU-Oklahoma State showdown in Stillwater:

Oklahoma Looking To Build On Recent Edge Over Oklahoma State

Since 2013, the Sooners are 8-2 against the Cowboys, including last year’s 28-13 victory in Norman that saw OU earn their 91st victory in a series that traces back to 1904. The last Oklahoma State victory in the Bedlam series came two years ago, when the Cowboys pulled off a 37-33 win as the 7th ranked team in the nation to snap the Sooners’ five-game winning streak in the rivalry.

The largest margin of victory since 2013 in the Bedlam series came in 2020, when OU beat Oklahoma State by 28 points (41-13) under then head coach Lincoln Riley.

Fast forward 24 months and the Sooners are once again looking to get the upper hand in the series in what could be the final showdown between the two in-state rivals, as Oklahoma is set to abscond from the Big 12 for the greener pastures of the SEC in 2024.

Nothing would make Cowboys fans happier than sending their rivals from Norman home with an L in the last iteration of the game as conference rivals, though that’ll be determined for real once the ball is kicked off on Saturday afternoon in Stillwater.

There is no guarantee that mobile sports betting will come to the Sooner State in 2024. Whenever it does, though, information will be vital if you choose to place a wager on Oklahoma sports betting apps.
